Ngāti Whakahemo

Rooted in the sacred whenua of Pukehina, we — the uri of Maruahaira through his conquest — stand as the tangata whenua of this rohe. This is our place, our inheritance, our responsibility. The Ngāti Whakahemo Claims Trust is the proposed representative body, now engaged in the Mandate process, carrying the voice of our iwi in the pursuit of tika, recognition, and restoration.

This online kāinga is for our whānau — a place to return to, to learn from, and to walk alongside as we move together through the Treaty of Waitangi claims process. Here, you'll find the kōrero that shape us, updates on our progress, and the moemoeā that guides us forward.

More than a website, this is a living expression of kotahitanga — a beacon for Ngāti Whakahemo, calling our people home to mātauranga, strength, and collective action. Join us as we honour the footsteps of Maruahaira and all those who followed, and shape the path ahead together.
