Ngāti Whakahemo Claims Iwi Register
Why Register?
Registration with the Ngāti Whakahemo Claims Trust helps us stay connected as an iwi, grounded in our shared whakapapa to Maruahaira. It brings together the names and details of those who whakapapa to Ngāti Whakahemo into one central, secure database — helping us protect our data sovereignty and plan for the future.
Your registration allows the Whakapapa Committee to validate whakapapa and maintain accurate tribal records, ensuring our whakapapa is upheld with integrity.
It also enables you to participate in key decisions, including voting on matters related to our Treaty claims and future governance.
Who Can Register?
Anyone who descends from Maruahaira ki Pukehina is eligible to register.
-
Adults (18+): Must complete and sign their own registration form.
-
Tamariki (under 18): Can be registered by a parent or legal guardian. While they won’t vote until they reach 18, registering them now ensures they are recognised as uri of Ngāti Whakahemo and included in our future planning.
